Welcome to Castle Gait Manor, East Wemyss
Abbotsford East Wemyss is a purpose built care home that opened in 1998, offering support to adults with learning disabilities, older people and people with dementia. The home is divided into three small units Barra, Coll & Arran.
We boast en-suite bedrooms and large communal lounges that can be personalised as per the wishes of our residents, to give it a real sense of home and individuality. There is a sense of warmth and community throughout the home and we offer a welcoming environment and ensure that there is a happy and pleasant atmosphere for all residents and families alike. There are numerous photo displays throughout the home of our residents and staff on outings and taking part in various activities that are chosen and planned with all residents.
We provide a person centred approach to care and we ensure our residents have a full and exciting life. We have many activities on offer and will tailor these to suit the individual's needs. We also have an annual make a wish scheme, whereby the residents present the staff with a wish they would like to come true and we will strive to make this wish come true.
At Abbotsford East Wemyss you get more than a Care provider. We have a motivated workforce which operates to National Care Standards, legislation and best practice. The staff are dedicated in providing a better quality of life, maintaining and promoting independence and offering the assistance and support, you or your relative requires, to help you live your life the way you choose.
"Cannot fault the place, if I was looking for a home from home I would pick here"
Jackie - Resident
"I could go on forever talking about the staff; they all deserve a gold star! If ever anyone had to going to a care home I would highly recommend Castle Gait Manor. The staff are kind and thoughtful and the care and attention they give to my niece is excellent. The staff always have plenty time for relatives too, if ever I have any questions they always answer them, and they are great at making a cuppa too!"
Florence – Relative
"My father is very well looked after in Castle Gait Manor; the staff are very good and helpful and tend to all aspects of his care. My father often comments on how fantastic the food is. The home is very open and transparent anything that crops up is discussed and dealt with promptly. Staff go above and beyond their duty of care for all residents."

Throughout my career I have had many opportunities to further develop my knowledge and enhance my vast array of skills, I took up the position of Assistant Care Manager in 2002 at Abbotsford Castle Gait Manor, where I continued working alongside Ann. I also believe teamwork is vital to achieve the task in hand. One of the primary aims, I believe, for Abbotsford Castle Gait Manor is for staff to work together, build an excellent rapport with all residents and their family and friends.
