A Place Like Home
Bayview is a purpose-built care home in Methil, designed on one level with small, intimate units for 12 residents. The smaller setting creates a friendly, homely environment where residents can enjoy the feeling of an extended family. Our experienced team includes staff qualified to SVQ Level 2 and 3, with ongoing training in areas including dementia and palliative care to ensure we understand and respond to each resident’s individual needs.

Living Well at Bayview
At Bayview, residents are encouraged to make choices about their everyday lives and enjoy positive social connections with those around them. Our outdoor spaces, including a patio and putting green, provide opportunities to get involved, enjoy the outdoors and grow things together. We also have strong links with the local community, including nearby nurseries and schools, helping to create opportunities for residents to connect with people of all ages.

Hello, I’m Siobhan
Nursing has always been more than just a career for me — it’s something I genuinely love and feel very passionate about. I spent several years working in the NHS before joining Abbotsford five years ago as a peripatetic nurse, travelling between all the Abbotsford homes. I eventually found myself wanting to be part of one team, somewhere I could really put down roots. That’s when I joined Bayview as Clinical Lead and became part of the Senior Leadership Team. Abbotsford truly feels like a second family, and I feel very lucky to be part of it.

Hello, I’m Sharon
My name is Sharon Grieve, and I’m the Improvement and Innovation Practitioner and part of the Senior Leadership Team at Abbotsford Bayview. I first started my journey with Abbotsford in 2018 as a Care Assistant. What I love most about Bayview is the real sense of community within the home. It genuinely feels like we are one big family, and that is something I’m very proud to be part of. Outside of work, my biggest passion is spending time with my family, especially my children and grandchildren. I also have a real interest in history and visiting places of interest.

Hello, I’m Kelly
My name is Kelly Runcie, and I am the Lead Environmental Practitioner at Abbotsford Bayview Nursing Home. I have been part of the Bayview family for 9½ years, and during that time I have been fortunate to progress through a few different roles within the home. What I love most about Bayview is the real sense of family and togetherness. Outside of work, I love losing myself in a good book. I also really enjoy supporting my son and his love of football, which has taken us travelling all around Scotland, and even to Spain and Italy.

Hello, I’m Dawn
I joined Abbotsford Bayview in May 2020 as a Senior Care Assistant, bringing extensive experience in social care and SVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications. I progressed through Care Practitioner and Lead Care Practitioner roles before joining the Senior Leadership Team . Committed to continuous professional development, I completed my SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care in February 2023 and SVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management in February 2024. I am passionate about supporting residents and colleagues, promoting high-quality, person-centred care and positive outcomes.

I am passionate about making Bayview a place where the people we support feel valued, respected and truly at home. I take great pride in supporting our staff team, promoting high standards of person-centred care and contributing to the continued success of Bayview.

At Bayview, mealtimes are an important part of everyday life, bringing residents together to enjoy fresh, nutritious and delicious food in a relaxed setting. Our menus offer plenty of variety and seasonal favourites, with special occasions and celebrations giving everyone another reason to enjoy good food and good company.
FAQs
What isn’t included in the weekly fee?
Our weekly fees cover accommodation, meals and snacks, laundry, personal and nursing care, and our activities programme. A few personal extras are charged separately, such as hairdressing, chiropody, toiletries, newspapers and magazines, clothing, and personal outings or escorts to appointments. Each home can give you a full list, so there are no surprises.
Can I arrange respite while exploring longer-term options?
Yes, a respite stay can be a good way to get support quickly while you weigh up longer-term care. Contact your preferred home to discuss availability.
Are staff fully trained?
Training is at the heart of our care. Abbotsford has its own SQA-accredited Assessment Centre, through which our team can gain SVQ qualifications in Social Services and Healthcare, right up to SVQ 4 in Care Services Leadership and Management. So the people caring for your loved one are supported to keep learning and developing throughout their careers.
