Abbotsford Care held the Annual Star Awards Celebrations at Pettycur Bay Hotel, Kinghorn on Friday 22nd January 2016. The awards are a celebration of all the hard work and dedication shown by staff over the year and recognises individuals for their service and commitment to the job.
Residents, visitors and staff voted for the staff members they felt deserved to have special recognition for their hard work and dedication to the job. This year our Newburgh nominees were:
Staff Nurse of the Year: David Blakey
Carer of the Year: Lorraine Cochrane
Housekeeper of the Year: Douglas Wright
Chef of the year: David Mulligan
Newcomer of the year: Laura Beaven.
Administrator of the year: Murat Torunsay.
We are very proud to announce that Douglas Wright was the overall winner of the Housekeeper of the Year award. Douglas was recognised for his constant cheerful disposition and his willingness to help out. Douglas works part time at Newburgh but gives more than 100% commitment to the job at all times. Douglas stated: "Thank you to everyone who nominated me for this award. I was absolutely delighted to have won this award. I had a fabulous night. "
It is important to also recognise staff for their long service. Congratulations and well done to Carer Jackie Taylor who received her long service award for 5years service.
A great night was had by everyone.
