Christmas festivities
Thursday, 22 December 2016
With all the festive spirits going around it was decided to add decorations. Helpful discussions lead to an Elphin plan. Two Teddy bears on the back of the pagoda for Lewis residents. Santa in a sleigh and wooden reindeer at the Foyer. But the large centre piece out the back was a Russian style church covered in snow.
Santa’s helpers and the gardener (St.Nicholas) were put in action. The reindeer moved Palettes in place to build the frame of the church. Covered cushions created the dome on the top. Off cuts off the Christmas tree made the roof. The final touch was the placing of Christmas lights and a tint of white snow for the roof.
At the front porch the reindeer were made from willow, off cuts, and the sledge from a broken chair. Rudolf, prancer and so on with red noises.
