Queens 90th Birthday Celebrations

Friday, 10 June 2016

To celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday Milton Road held a garden party and invited children from the local West Primary School to help celebrate. The New Generation Twillers from Link Town were also invited along to put on a show for the residents. All friends and family of residents were invited to attend.

On Friday 10th June, 2016 Milton Road celebrated the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth by designing and making a cake for the occasion. Residents thought long and hard and came up with a royal themed cake that also incorporated hearts to go along with the dignity theme Milton Road are concentrating on at present. The cake was made by long serving staff member Helen Somerville along with the help of residents. It went down a treat.

To help celebrate we invited along the local children from Kirkcaldy West Primary School who happily partied with us. We had a ball and spoon race, pin the letter on the queens crown and time to chat to young and old.

On this week we had a special birthday of our own as Mary Minto celebrated her 70th birthday. Mary was our queen for the day. In honour of the queen our own queen Mary sat on the throne and in front of all the children and visitors Mary cut the cake so that everyone can get a bit. The cake went down a treat and everyone enjoyed the celebrations.

Last but not least we had the New Generation Twillers from Linktown who came and put on a display for the residents. This was fantastic and all residents enjoyed the display they put on for us.

All we hope is that the Queen enjoyed her birthday as much as we enjoyed celebrating it for her.
