Primary School Visit for Easter
Friday, 24 March 2017
School children from Cowdenbeath Primary School visited Chambers Court with Easter cards for our residents.
We had a visit today from Cowdenbeath Primary School pupils. 17 school children visited the home with their teachers. We had planned activities for them in each of our units. The children were split into groups of three with every group going into each unit to join in the activities and present our residents with Easter cards that they had made at the school.
In Tiree there was colouring in and a fill in the blanks worksheets which were all related to healthy eating. Cumbrae had jigsaw puzzles to do and Iona had a selection of games to play.
Each group spent time in every unit and the children presented an Easter card to every resident and told them that they had made it especially for them.
One of the teachers spoke to our staff and expressed her delight in the children doing the jigsaws as they were all communicating with each other and solving problems together. She also commented that the children were working well as a team.
The children then had to return to school but not before having some juice and fruit as they were doing healthy eating at school.
The children said that they all had a great time visiting today and our residents enjoyed spending time with them.
