Dementia Awareness Week – Sponsored Walk/Silence
Monday, 20 May 2019
This week has been Dementia Awareness week and we had set up a week full of fun for our residents, their family and friends.
On Monday, we were supposed to do a sponsored walk at Lochore Meadows with our residents.
Residents Rose, Edna, Nancy, Tam, Helen and Margaret got caught in the rain and quickly had to return with staff members Shannon, Hayley, Ryan, Jinty and Christine.
Due to the rainy weather, this then had to be postponed for a later date. Fingers crossed we get nice sunny weather on our rearranged date.
On Tuesday, we had a remember the music day where our residents enjoyed listening to their favourite songs and had a relaxing day.
On Thursday, Our domestic Connie, took on a sponsored silence from 1pm to 5pm. She was given a notepad and pen to communicate with her residents and colleagues.
Connie is a chatterbox and enjoys chatting to everyone, making them laugh and smile. She done really well and managed to complete her sponsored silence.
Well done Connie, you done great!
