Dementia awareness week here at Castle Gait manor was very green fingered. With the Help of TWIG, a local community improvement group.
Dementia awareness week went well at Castle Gait manor with the introduction of our new sensory Garden, in collaboration with a local Community group who helped us with the planting and gave great advice on our new project. Residents Rab Jenkins and Alex Murrie were right in there getting their hands Dirty Helping plant our sensory Garden, 1 is filled with Herbs that will be used by the cook, our other planter is filled with plants that are colourful and have lovely scent... The manure used brought back memories of the country side Rab commented!!! TWIG has also asked if we wouldn’t mind keeping one of there Tubs watered out near the entrance of Castle Gait. Our new sensory garden was welcomed by all residents who enjoyed “Supervising” the planting. TWIG is also in a community bloom competition and our new sensory garden will be included in there presentation fingers x we help them win this local competition.
