Abbotsford takes on It’s a Knockout
Sunday, 24 July 2016
Staff members and relatives from Bayview and Raith Manor took part in It’s a Knockout in Holyrood park, Edinburgh to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Scotland.
We had a team of 9 called the Abbotsford Angels,The event was an inflatable course with a points based system to score points, so you had to use your skill rather than speed. We managed to score 16 points and came 5th overall even winning top points on 2 of the inflatables and winning the warm up for the second half with our great dancing skills. Which is good for our first time taking part. One of our team members Harley who is only 14 took part in this event with us as her gran was looked after by Abbotsford and she wanted to give back and support both Abbotsford and Alzheimer’s Scotland.
A big thank you to Harley for the support. We would also like to thank our other team members Colin, Melissa, Charleigh, Charlene, Lynsey, Trudie, Kellie and Kat for taking part. And a big thank you to our supporters Carole, Anne, Angie, Laura and everyone else who came on the day for encouraging everyone. It was a great day had by all and all for a great cause. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who donated to this worthy cause.
