It's time for our annual holiday to BLACKPOOL. This year we seen resident Christina lee assisted with Connie burns from chambers court, aswell as Joe Worthington, George McFarlane, Janice Hutchison, Linda McGurk And Rosemary Heron assisted by, Cally Barnes, Karen Diamond, Ann Lavin, Pauline Robertson and Evelyn Bayne from Bute House. We then had Nona Wilson, Annie Elder, Sarah Wilson & Josh Mitchell assisted by Mandy Small, Steph Ritchie, Lauren Fyfe And Caroline Ford all from argyle house. The Residents really enjoy Blackpool and look forward to this every year. We try to get through as much as we can in such a short space of time so as you can imagine it is always a very busy weekend.
On our first night, we were ready to party and dance the night away and that's exactly what we did. Joe Worthington, Nona Wilson And Sarah Wilson all stole the dance floor; We even got Christina lee & Connie up dancing. Sarah Wilson advised staff she was not coming home on Monday cause she enjoyed herself so much. Saturday & Sunday throughout the day staff and residents all enjoyed doing separate activities. Joe, Linda, Josh and Nona all enjoyed the tour around madame tussauds (Josh Mitchells favourite part of the holiday was holding Cheryl Coles arm whilst he posing for a picture.
Nona Wilson was amazed she was having a drink in the rovers from her favourite soap coronation street. Sarah Wilson, Nona Wilson & Josh Mitchell also experienced going up the tower and being on the glass floor (this was such an amazing experience). Other residents such as George, Janice, Christina, Rosemary, Annie & Sarah all enjoyed walking down the piers. Staff started dancing along with the show music and this reduced Christina lee to tears with laughter & Sarah Wilson was left feeling embarrassed and said the staff were crazy, this group also enjoyed going around the local market and enjoying the sun.
Rosemary And Karen Really enjoyed the circus. Nona Wilson and Josh Mitchell also enjoyed going down under and having a tour of sea life. (Anyone going to Blackpool in the future these activities are all a must) Saturday and Sunday nights entertainment had us all up singing and dancing to all the 80s music. George enjoyed having a couple of pints( let's just say he had a hangover in the morning) Sunday Night was the fancy dress competition and guess what .................
Abbotsford Cowdenbeath Won!! Well Done to Sarah Wilson who won the competition, which was a free holiday (Friday to Monday) in November at the bond hotel. What a way to finish the holiday.
Blackpool we will see you soon!!
